Class Import There are no student instructions for this feature.
When setting up a new class you can save a lot of time, and ensure consistency by reusing material you created in past classes. Classes copied from must still be in production and not archived in offline storage.
Who can import?
- Lead instructors may import items they authored themselves.
- Teaching Assistants may import items they authored themselves and items authored by the lead instructor.
What can be imported? Any combination of these items may be imported at once, except for Syllabus and Gradebook. These items must each be imported in separate transactions because of the large amount of data that must be transferred.
- Course Content
- How to Import Conferences
- Study Groups
- Webliography
- Reserved Readings
- Gradebook (Must be imported separately from other items.)
- Class Menu Availability Settings
- Syllabus (Must be imported separately from other items.)
- Only items created by the instructor. Modules and other material created by the university, or students, cannot be imported.
How to import Conferences Step-by-Step

How to import everything except Conferences
- Open the class into which you wish to import material from other classes.
- Select Faculty Center on the Class Menu.
- Select Manage beside Class Import
- Click Import Options beside the name of the class you wish to import (copy) from.
- Place a check in the checkbox beside those items you wish to copy and click Submit
- Availability Preferences refers to those items you have checked to hide or show on the Class Menu.

Exceptions to Check All Because Conferences and Syllabus contain a large amount of data these must each be imported separately. When you click Check All you will notice that Gradebook and Syllabus have not been checked. Please do not manually check the boxes. Instead, finish this import action and then return to import Gradebook by itself, and then Syllabus by itself.

Replacements or Additions? Imported Gradebooks and Syllabi completely replace any other Gradebook or Syllabus that may be in the receiving class. Conversely, all other imported items are added to the class and if you import the same item twice, two instances of that item will appear in the receiving class.

Visible to Students? Upon importing, items are hidden from student view. Later you may change the setting by going to Faculty Center, select Manage beside the chosen area, and change the availability settings.
Import a Page that Includes an Image To make sure the image is included with the page you must also import the Placeholder for Files listed under Course Content.
Delete Imported Items Deleting imported items is done within the new class. You cannot un-do an import transaction. Instead, just open the receiving class, go to Faculty Center >Manage for the selected area, and delete (or edit) the item.
